What was your major in college?
Business administration with a focus on accounting.
What was your first job?
When I was in high school, I scanned papers all summer at an accounting firm. I also worked at a recreational camp.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
It’s rewarding to handle a claim from start to finish. I love to see the result of someone being made whole after a catastrophic event, and them being happy in their house again. It’s great to see the closure.
What’s the most challenging part?
Every claim is different, so I’d say just navigating the unique challenges for each one is what’s challenging.
What are your hobbies?
In the winter months, I officiate college hockey for Hockey East. This will be my 13th season with them. I actually refereed the Frozen Four National Championship this past season; that was very rewarding. I also coach my kids’ teams. My family goes to New Hampshire where we like to ski and go out on the boat.

What’s your favorite sports team?
I grew up in Oakland, New Jersey, so my favorite team is the New Jersey Devils. But I’ve been in Massachusetts since 2006, so I do follow the Sox and Patriots.
What was the last concert you went to?
Alex Warren at the TD Garden.
What is your favorite food and restaurant?
I like to cook steak and potatoes. And my favorite restaurant is Loretta in Newburyport.
How do you motivate others? How do others motivate you?
I bring a positive attitude. And leading by example motivates me.
What would your best friends say is your best quality? What would colleagues say is your best quality?
Friends would say I’m loyal and have a good sense of humor. Colleagues would say I’m a hard worker. I get things done and I am dependable.
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Aruba with the family – we were just there last Spring.

What is your daily attire?
A golf shirt and pants.
What’s your favorite TV show?
My favorite of all time is Breaking Bad.
What podcasts or music do you listen to daily?
I listen to music on the way to work. I like many genres, but I mostly listen to the Classic Vinyl station on Sirius, and Rock/Country.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I’d like to predict the future, so I could control my destiny.
How do you maintain a work life balance?
I try to be efficient with my time. When I’m with my family, I set work aside and focus on them. But in this industry, you need to have a good flow because it never stops. If things get busy, I’ll get more work done after the kids go to bed.
What trait are you most proud of in your children?
They are funny people. They’re characters, cracking jokes and making fun of me. And the school tells us they’re good friends to others.
Do you have any nicknames?
People have always called me Murph, and now many call me T-Bone.
What’s your favorite picture you’ve taken?
We have an ice rink in our backyard, and I have a great picture of my kids hugging each other out there.
