We start using our Matterport camera when we arrive at the site of a property loss, clicking shots to create a 3D rendering that serves as a highly accurate digital twin of the space. This includes any room, floor or building. Matterport lets us manage the 3D reconstruction process with incredible speed. The oculus lens allows us to create a virtual walk-through that we can send to anyone else who might need it. We can also review the 3D images if there are questions after the demolition has taken place and we never lose the opportunity to go “back to the scene” – whether it’s a zoom-in to read a book label or a dispute over a single item in a now-demolished room. We can say “here’s the proof”, and proceed with the claim.
