Amidst the COVID crisis, we wanted to take a moment to say “Welcome Home” to the unit owners at the Old Reading Schoolhouse Condos. They recently moved back into their homes after a very long reconstruction process, which was expertly managed by the outstanding team at Brigs property management. Having worked with Brigs through each phase of this extensive process, we are proud to offer our sincerest congratulations.
This huge property loss dates back to June of 2017, when a massive seven-alarm fire tore through the Old Reading School House Condos in Reading, MA. Forty owners lost their homes to the blaze that required more than 100 area firefighters to combat.
Luckily for Old Reading, they had Brigs’ Scott Wolf as their guide through the long process of rebuilding. We sat down with Scott to get the details of his management process through this crisis, including his best advice to other property managers dealing with the aftermath of a catastrophic loss. Look for Scott’s advice and insights in an upcoming SMW blog.
We’re proud to have helped Brigs and the Old Reading residents in this process, and so happy that all the owners can finally move back into their homes.
Any homeowner who suffers a crushing property loss can attest to the difficulties of starting over. As public adjusters whose clients are often those same homeowners – whether condo associations or individuals – we know firsthand how daunting these challenges can be. But we also know that success often comes from these moments, and opportunities lie within what seem like devastating property losses.
The story of Old Reading’s successful reconstruction, and the recent reappearance of unit owners, is the perfect example.
Congratulations to the Brigs team for all the hard work that made it possible for unit owners to be back in their homes!
